The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is the county’s primary transportation agency. OCTA creates funds and delivers efficient transportation for Orange County. We keep Orange County moving with extensive bus and paratransit service, Metrolink commuter rail service, the 91 Express Lanes Toll Road, motorist services and freeway, street and road improvement projects. OCTA began in in 1991 with the consolidation of seven separate transportation agencies. OCTA is dedicated to its organizational mission and core values. Under specific supervision, completes a variety of in-the-field surveys and performs counts pertaining to passengers and schedules. Computes and summarizes findings and performs related work as required.
This position is not eligible for employee benefits. The work schedule will consist of approximately 20 hours a week, not to exceed 1,000 hours within a continuous 12 month period.
This position is Salary Grade G: Min $17.95 – Mid $21.87 – Max $25.79 per hour. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

•Conducts on-board and intersection checks to record arrival and departure times of coaches and numbers of passengers loading and unloading at designated points.
•Records various information including, but not limited to, weather conditions, bus run number, seating capacity, etc.
•Makes special origin and destination checks and notes flow of traffic.
•Answers questions and provides information as requested.
•Maintains records, prepares summaries and reports, such as check sheets and summary of work run.
•Makes recommendations concerning routing, scheduling, bus stop zones, and traffic signals based upon findings.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma with approximately five years of experience in transportation schedule checking, surveyor, data collection, service monitor, customer relations, clerical or related work.
Valid California Class C Driver License.

Indoor and outdoor environment; subject to weather conditions, various locations throughout the Agency’s service area and various working hours including split shift, early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
